Introduction

Giovanna Graziosi Casimiro, an Art & Tech researcher, multimedia artist and project manager, has graduated with a degree in Visual Arts and masters in Art and Technology. She spent her time working on interactive projects based on mixed reality, virtual reality and augmented reality. Now a days, she is travelling around the world educating and exploring augmented reality.

In her career, she participated in many events and activities like MIT Hacking Arts and Hackathon.

Projects

AR Lines of the city: 

AR Lines at the City is a research about exchanging street art from one place  to the other, in a remote exhibition of street art with augmented reality. AR Lines of city is an augmented reality tour for murals. It creates a portal between Sao Paulo, Brazil and Boston, USA in a street art exchange. Hanjio (Unfolding Urban Memories):

Hanjio is a public art intervention that puts together elements of the Korean culture, augmented reality and the discussion about open source heritage. Using the origami practice as the main aesthetic reference, this interactive furniture is an abstract reference to the millenarian practice of origami in Asia as well to the heritage attached to it. The thousands faces to be unfold in the origami inspire the idea to make each façade interactive and open to expose potential memories. Baseline behind projects:

Through her projects of augmented reality, she wants to tag the places with memories and heritage that has been forgotten. Giovanna believes in creating empathy through her projects.

Giovanna’s views about Augmented Reality Future

Giovanna has strong beliefs toward the future of mixed reality applications, that consists of augmented reality and augmented virtuality.

Moreover, she thinks that sooner or later mobile platform developers like IOS and Android would start integrating augmented reality into their native apps. Filters provided in native camera applications is an example of developers providing built in augmented reality in their apps.

She is moving forward to use knowledge to break the system of control by massive corporations. Her work stands aside from politics in technology.
